What matters here
The region covers Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Publishers, media houses and agencies frequently work in open-plan offices. Acoustic exposure is the point most often raised there and belongs explicitly in the mental stress assessment. In the administration of trading and logistics companies there is the added point that office and warehouse areas often sit in the same building and must be assessed separately.
What differs regionally
The duties themselves are identical nationwide. Two things differ:
- The district office of your employers' liability insurance association. For office businesses this is usually the Verwaltungs-Berufsgenossenschaft. This region is covered entirely by the VBG district office in Hamburg. What decides is the postcode of your site.
- The state occupational safety authority. This is a matter for the federal states. Responsible here are the occupational safety authority in Hamburg and the state authority of Schleswig-Holstein. It can act independently of the insurance association.
